THE ROUTE 2022
Pure trail running heaven
The DHL Carpathian Marathon brings a familiar vibe and offers an immersive trail route set in the heart of one of the last genuinely wild regions in Europe – the Carpathian mountains in Romania. We put together rugged trails, most of them never explored by runners, all crossing natural parks and wild regions unique in Europe. DHL Carpathian Marathon challenges you to enjoy a fresh adventure and to explore the most picturesque trails of the Southern Carpathians. The event offers the following options:
>MARATHON 42K / 2000m of climbing (the 21k route is traversed twice)
>HALF MARATHON 21K / 1000m of climbing
>RELAY 7K - Teams of 3 or 6 (men, women, mixt) / 290m of climbing per 7k lap
>KIDS RACE / 250m, 500m or 1k
What can you expect on the route?
>Feed points are available on each of the race tracks.
>First aid points.
>Professional photographers and videographers covering all race options.
>Epic climbs, fast descents.
GPX/KML tracks
The tracks traverse protected areas and private domains. To ensure and protect the safety of participants, technical GPX/KML tracks will be emailed to all runners approximately 2 days before the race starts. Please do not share the tracks on any public platform and keep all race recordings (ex: through specialized tracking apps such as Strava) as private.
RACE VILLAGE
DHL Carpathian Marathon delivers a big event vibe in a very special location, at Cheile Gradistei Fundata Resort, in Brasov county, a pleasant three hours drive from Bucharest. Offering top class services and a fantastic rugged scenery in the vicinity of the Bran Castle related to Dracula’s story, the Cheile Gradistei Fundata Resort is the perfect set for our Race Village. This is a cornerstone for the DHL Carpathian Marathon experience.

PRIZES
Prizes for each race category will be awarded during the Award Ceremony, according to the official program.
All participants registered on the 7K, 21K, 42K routes are automatically entered in the event raffle, where the following prizes will be awarded: 3 sets of JULIUS MEINL (each set contains a Coffee machine with PINTA capsules + JULIUS MEINL capsule set). The draw will take place after the award ceremony.
A 2nd raffle will be organized for kids, with prizes offered by QuertyKey.ro - 3 x keyboards QwertyKey 61.
